Columbus Sisters Celebrate Jubilee

The Feast of Corpus Christi was an appropriate day to celebrate the Jubilees of 17 Dominican Sisters of Peace living in the Columbus, Ohio community. Sisters gathered in the chapel at the Mohun Care Center and the Columbus Motherhouse for a celebratory Mass and renewal of vows before coming together for a luncheon at the Martin de Porres Center.

At the Motherhouse, Sr. Anne Lythgoe, OP, a member of the Congregational leadership and a Golden Jubilarian, delivered a reflection on her years of consecrated life. St. Cathy Arnold, also a member of the Congregational leadership, offered a reflection at the Mohun service.

Sisters from both communities enjoyed a celebratory dinner with reflections from Golden Jubilarians Sr. Anne Lythgoe and Sr. Carol Ann May. Special remembrances were also offered for Sisters celebrating Jubilee anniversaries from 60 years to 80 years. Click here for more photos from the day.

We are grateful and blessed to honor these women and their more than 1,100 years of service to God and God's people.

  1. CONGRATULATIONS, TO EACH DOMINICAN SISTER!
I am truly sorry that I missed the celebrations yet I was with you in spirit and prayer.
My lower back was giving me a lot of pain and I thought it best just to rest yet I did see a lot from my
from my TV. I also apologize that I didn’t get a card to you. Yet, I did pray for each of you in my heart to Jesus and Mary for the grace of your perseverance in our Dominican life and ministry. You all look so beautiful and joyful. God is so please with all you have accomplished with His grace. I am very happy for each and everyone of you. I think I might be cerebrating my jubilee next year, God willing.
Keep well as you continue to trust in the Lord for all the work he has given you. Please keep me in your prayer as well.
Lovingly your sister in Dominic and Catherine,
    Sr. M. Brigid
